Digital audio involves conversion of analoge sound to digital form, this process adds distortion to the sound or information might be lost which affects the quality of the original analoge signal. Digital sound requires a big storage space, so the quality of the sound might be compromised by the conversion. Typical sampling rate and size have a major effect on the quality. The source file could be mono or stereo and this can be interchangeable by the sound engineers. The delivery platform might only supports basic audio. Digital editing can be helpful in minimizing these shortcomings of the conversion and through trimming, cutting, pasting and volume adjustments.

By using the selection tool I have cut the silence periods on the file, the scratches have been cut using the pencil tool. Several compression techniques are available from audacity as we can choose any one available. The bit depth can be changed on any track by clicking on the arrowhead and selecting set the sample format.
Mixing allows you to combine two tracks together into one track so you can create complex sound effects.
This tutorial was really good and I have like it because it shows how I can make voice changes and can add effects on them to produce a suitable voice tracks.
